Connecting players to intentional, safe, and supportive tables across Tennessee.

Because the right table changes everything.

Our Purpose

We believe the power of tabletop roleplaying lies not only in the stories we tell, but in the quality of the table itself. The Therapeutic Game Master’s Guild of Tennessee exists to connect players with intentional, safe, and supportive TTRPG groups across the state. We highlight therapist-led and community-led tables that strive to be trauma-informed, culturally aware, and grounded in healthy group dynamics. Our purpose is to help players find spaces where they feel respected, included, and able to show up as their full selves — whether they are seeking therapy, connection, or simply a better way to play.

The Guild does not provide clinical oversight or certification of groups and encourages participants to review each facilitator’s credentials, boundaries, and scope of practice.

Therapist-Led Therapeutic TTRPG Groups

These groups are facilitated by licensed or pre-licensed mental health professionals and are offered as a form of therapy. The tabletop roleplaying experience is intentionally integrated into the therapeutic process and may focus on goals such as emotional regulation, social skills, identity exploration, or social anxiety. Participation in these groups typically involves informed consent, clinical boundaries, and may include documentation, treatment planning, or insurance/private pay structures.

Therapist-Led Non-Therapeutic TTRPG Tables

These tables are facilitated by licensed or pre-licensed therapists but are not offered as formal therapy. While these groups are not clinical services, they are often shaped by the facilitator’s therapeutic training and may emphasize emotional safety, trauma-informed practices, and healthy group dynamics. These tables are ideal for players who want a supportive, relationally aware play environment without engaging in therapy.

Community TTRPG Tables (Non-Therapist-Led)

These tables are facilitated by community game masters who are not licensed therapists, but who are committed to creating intentional, inclusive, and emotionally safe play spaces. Community facilitators in this category strive to be trauma-informed, culturally aware, and attentive to group dynamics, boundaries, and consent. These tables are for players seeking meaningful and respectful play in a non-clinical setting.
